It appears he is prying the door up to make it easier for the saw operator to cut through the angle iron; this saves one step in cutting a rolled steel or sheet curtain door.

Engine 3 actually was diverted to a working residential structure fire while enroute to this fire. Engine 3 “C” watch crew extinguished the WELL involved structure fire, changed out bottles, responded to the storage complex fire where there was plenty more work to be done systematically forcing the roll up doors shown in the photo above. What a night.
