this is actually an easy concept to understand. We pull up at the front door is closed holding all that heat in. We open it up and prop it open. Now we have horizontally ventillated the house with an approximate 3 foot by 6 opening. If you do the basic math the opening created by the door is going to allow more air flow than if we cut a hole in the roof. Normal 4×4 roof opening is 16 square feet of opening where as 3×6 is 18 square feet of opening.
