Gallons Per Second -Presented by Curt Isakson
Today’s fires are burning hotter and reaching flashover conditions at a much quicker rate. This class will cover exceeding fire flow needs while still managing water during the crucial initial hose line advancement in interior offensive attack. Learn why it is necessary to think in terms of gallons per second at this crucial stage of the firefight. Strategies will be presented to manage the booster tank supply until a sustainable water upply has been established. This class is especially relevant for companies that commonly engage with the booster tank and deploy suburban tactics. All aspects of first-due fire tactics at your most common structure fires and how to quickly suppress them are covered.
Big Fire, Big Water -Presented by Curt Isakson
When presented with a large amount of fire on arrival, larger amounts of water are necessary. Sometimes the amount of fire is beyond tank water and even the hydrant supply that is available. This class will cover fire flow needs and how to best meet them with your system. This class will also cover maximizing tank water to include tankers and taking full advantage of your available hydrant system. This class will also cover large fires and control burn down while protecting exposures.
