Using Standard Procedures & Riding Assignments for a Safer more effective Fireground

Choosing teams and giving tool, position, and unit assignments upon arrival at a working building fire is not only laborious and time consuming but it is also dangerous. Size-up and operational items are easily missed leaving the fireground subject to much more danger and confusion.

This class will look at best practice Standard Operating Procedures as well as Riding positions on apparatus to accomplish those emergency procedures. Examples will be given and explored for departments with multiple units and full staffing as well as showing how Procedures and Positions aid a department with very limited staffing.
