Rescues in Cleveland Heights, OH

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH (WOIO) –

Two people are recovering after being rescued from a house fire Sunday morning.

According to Cleveland Heights Fire Chief Dave Freeman, the fire started in the basement around 6 a.m. in the 900 block of Nela View Road near Noble Road.

The chief says firefighters rescued a man and woman in their 60s. They were unconscious when crews found them, but firefighters were able to revive them. The pair was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation. The chief believes they are still there being treated.

No firefighters were injured.

Investigation continues into a cause.
