Kansas City firefighters rescued a woman from the roof of her home after fire broke out early Wednesday morning.
Fire crews were called to 41st and Charlotte streets about 5:45 a.m.
The woman was not injured. But her dog perished in the fire.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
