A woman was without vital signs when firefighters rescued her from a burning house near O’Connor Drive and St. Clair Avenue on Friday morning.

Paramedics were attempting to revive the woman when she was rushed to hospital.

A firefighter suffered minor injuries while battling the blaze on Alder Road at about 7 a.m.

A Toronto Fire Services spokesperson said emergency crews responded when they received a report of a fire at the back of the house.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
