Firefighters rescued a man this morning when a fire erupted at a home on Iowa Street.

The Butte-Silver Bow Fire Department found smoke coming from the eaves of the home in the 1100 block of Iowa Street about 5:45 a.m.

Inside, a man was unconscious and unresponsive. His identity was not released, and his condition wasn’t immediately available.

Officials said he’s being treated at St. James Hospital and asked that the public keep him in their thoughts and prayers.

The fire started in the furnace and was contained, the fire department said.
