Firefighters were called at 3:47 p.m. to the 400 block of N. Belnord Ave. in McElderry Park, where they found the two people trapped inside the burning rowhouse, Fire Department spokesman Samuel Johnson said.

Their conditions were not known, and the cause of the fire, which was brought under control at 4:13 p.m., was under investigation.
