The first arriving units reported heavy smoke coming from the home, then crews worked quickly to search the structure as they extinguished the fire, according to the fire department. The woman was pulled from the home and transported to a hospital in serious condition, fire officials said.

The fire is under investigation by the fire department and Florida fire marshal.
