The Calgary Fire Department rescued a young woman from the Bow River early Saturday afternoon.

The water rescue unit was called to the river by Point Mckay around noon after passersby noticed the woman in the water, said battalion chief Paul LeBlanc.

It’s not known how the woman, believed to be in her early 20s, ended up in the river.

She was transported to hospital in serious but stable condition, according to EMS.
