PARMA, Ohio — Firefighters pulled a man through a first-floor bedroom window this morning to rescue him from his burning home.

The fire in the 6300 block of Pelham Drive was reported about 9:30 a.m.

It started in the kitchen and filled the house with smoke, firefighter Doug Turner said.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

The 83-year-old man was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center to be treated for smoke inhalation.
