Columbia, SC (WLTX) – A Columbia firefighter is being credited with saving an elderly woman from an apartment fire.

It happened around 2 o’clock at the Riverside Apartment on Lucius Road.

We’re told an elderly woman on oxygen was unable to get out so a fireman rescued her. She was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Fire officials are not sure what sparked the blaze but say it started in the kitchen.
