A husband and wife was transported to Harborview after suffering injuries in a house fire in northeast Seattle.
Following the homeowners directions, firefighters found the man’s wife, 82, unconscious, not breathing and without a heart beat, according to Seattle Fire spokesman Kyle Moore.
Medics administered CPR and were able to resuscitate her before they arrived at Harborview.
While firefighters were rescuing the wife, Moore said the 88-year-old man went into the basement. Firefighters rescued him as well and the man suffered minor smoke inhalation and singed hair.
The woman is in critical condition with life threatening injuries. The man is stable.
Seattle Fire does not know the cause of the fire.
